At the second coffee lecture of the semester, we heard Prof. Dr. Yiwen Chu talk about her experience with moving to the U.S. as a child and her studies and first research positions there. She talked about challenging situations as a woman in science and gave us an insight into her research at ETH. Afterwards, there was a discussion with lots of input from students on culture in academia and honesty in conversations.
Thanks to everyone for the lively discussion and see you soon at our next coffee lecture!
As part of the Respect month, Dr. Meike Akveld told us about her work as a contact person at D-Math and how we can all do our part in promoting Respect at ETH by standing up for others.
