At the second coffee lecture of the semester, we heard Prof. Dr. Yiwen Chu talk about her experience with moving to the U.S. as a child and her studies and first research positions there. She talked about challenging situations as a woman in science and gave us an insight into her research at ETH. Afterwards, there was a discussion with lots of input from students on culture in academia and honesty in conversations.
Thanks to everyone for the lively discussion and see you soon at our next coffee lecture!

It’s time for the second coffee lecture of the semester! On 28.11. at 12:45 at HCI J7, we will get an input by Prof. Dr. Rupp. She’s a new assistant professor here at ETH, and part of the Nanostructures and Ultrafast X-Ray Science group in the physics department. Her input will be on the book “Why Science is Sexist”, written by Nicola Gaston.
Join us for our first coffee lecture of the semester! Join us for our apero next Wednesday, 6.11. at 12:00 at HG D1.2, and stay for the input by Prof. Dr. Teichmann. He’s a professor here at ETH researching in the field of mathematical finance.
